The craziness has already started. I know how to operate the washing machine now!! I never knew - those things always frightened me. When I had my bachelor pad, the washers downstairs took pre-paid cards and had 3 buttons "Colors", "Whites" and "Delicates" ..... the one in the basement has all sorts of dials etc!!!!!!

Some of you may have heard me mention that I hate cooking and barely know how. My wife is happy that I know how to use the washing machine. She suggested the other day again that I try to learn how to cook some simple dishes, but I'm pretty sure she has just accepted the fact that that is just not going to happen as long as our daughter doesn't need solid food LOL.

Congrats from me, also! We had my girls (twins) when I was at the ripe old age of 22. They just turned 7. It's been a wild ride, I can say.

---and I am now a pro dishwasher, laundry do-er, short order cook, nurse, etc etc...and I do NOT miss the diaper days, especially with twins. Potty training success was one of the proudest moments of my life at the time ;-)

Seriously, though, congratulations, and the best to your expanding family!

2 more months until my twins are done with formula! Though, we plan on just diverting that $75/week into their college savings instead of winnings - it will still be nice not to spend it every week.

$75 a week!?! Ouch! Well worth it though. I know someone who is 55 and his mom told me that when he was a baby, she gave him regular milk with Karo corn syrup in it. I don't know if they did or didn't have baby formula back then.

We went the disposable diaper route, my sister and her husband did the reusable (washable) ones with a diaper service. Their second baby got disposables ;-)

We looked into the cloth diaper thing, but the only ones that were easily available uses a disposable liner ...... kind of defeats the purpose, so we went w/ disposable's.

Yeah - "back in the day" they used to just give babies regular milk. Now they recommend not going that until age 1. Just one more of those things they discovered was "bad" for you LOL. My mother in law just told me that her and her sister were both bottle fed because back in the 50's only the "lower class" breastfed their babies - weird isn't it?

It's amazing how anyone got out of the 50's alive hahaha. Giving babies regular milk, 2 martini's for lunch, 50 cigarettes a day and lead paint and asbestos - I think i'll make that my new sig!

Whats worse..bottle feeding regular milk or nursing until the kids old enough to un button your shirt and demand a feeding. I've seen that before. Time to draw the line mom!

My wife & I knew a couple whose child would walk up to the mom & say, "Eat!" She'd unharness, and let him. I've sometimes wondered how that kid turned out.
