My husband has been teasing me all night because I used my speed square to assemble the gingerbread house.

Or is he upset because he doesn't have a speed square? I use mine for just about anything that needs to have a square corner. I might even use it to cut the right angled pieces in a pie, if I thought it would confuse someone.

Good for you MissKat! I use my scrapbooking tools & gadgets for other things all the time. They come in handy!

One time I used my spring-loaded paper punch to make a new hole in my husbands leather belt.

On a side note - is there any chance you'd start a thread about your gingerbread house? And post some pictures?? I'm letting the daycare kids & grandkids build their own little (graham cracker) 'gingerbread' houses later this week & love to see other people's houses.

Here is my kids village they threw together. We have a toy shop, a building, an A frame chalet, a gabled house and a log home.

MissKat and Creeper, thanks for posting the cool pics! I love to see what the kids can create with some frosting, sugar and candy. I let my daycare kids make gingerbread (graham cracker) houses every year and they have a blast. It's fun to see how different each of them are.

I'm sorry but because you used the speed square the city and county enforcers will come see you as you did not pull a permit or the proper license. For this infraction you will lose the use of your tool belt and tools until after the 1st of the year. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
