I must be the only person who...........

Doesnt give a darn about the royal wedding. I'm sure the bride and groom are great people and they make a lovely couple but I still dont care.

For the past month every news show has been reporting how the royals are more popular in the U.S. than in the U.K., so I've been asking people. So far I havent found anyone who gives a s*#t about the royals.

Today it's really bothering me due to the bad weather and resulting deaths overnight, yet 65% of all news channels continue to report on this limey wedding. We broke ties with the royals some 200yrs ago and I like it that way!!

So post your feelings on the matter like or dis-like. I'm interested to see how many royal followers there are, cause there seems to be none around here.

Well now, you've found a like mind here. I've got nothing against the British, they're fine folk. And I think it's sort of neat that they continue support the royal family, despite their economic problems, but as far as caring about the wedding? I'd just as soon be out in the shop makin' something.

Yeah I would'nt mind that if the U.S. did'nt have to prop-up,bail out the E.U.'s monitary system.

Glad I'm not in the "Media Spotlight" !!!

Panem et circenses has always been a part of politics, no matter the country.

I would'nt hold my breath our GOV. is trying to figure out how to raise "our" national credit limit, while also trying to spent more to "help" us. You and I are on the back burner till the election draws closer.

I actually get this one. thank-you Mom and Dad for making me take 6 years of Latin.

*** essentially free food and entertainment. Literally bread and the circuses (think ancient Rome circus, not Barnum & Bailey).

I don't care about the wedding either. If the Brits want the Royalty to continue to be part of their culture, that's their decision to make (course pretty soon they will have Sultans instead of Princes).

From what I've read Charles is a loser and if he is to be King, even though it's not a formal role of leadership, then it would be in the Brits' best interest to let the Royals go by the wayside.

While I tend to insist that on THIS forum we are pretty gender neutral - how many people on this thread are girls? Cause if you're a guy, not English, and you're psyched about the royal wedding, then you are in the extreme minority.

BTW - TiVo'ing it.

Someone's getting married? Big deal, it happens every day! Let's focus on the REAL problems out there.

Actualy a local tv guy was talking about that today and said that the Queen can oust the parlament or P.M. if she wanted..........I was surprised that they still hold lots of power.

.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that won't help. We are in the throws of a true shift in the entire energy system as we know it.

known US oil reserves ~21 billion barrels
US DAILY use 18.7 million barrels (6.8B bbl annual)

we currently source ~49% of our oil use from our own production.

want to see scary? Figure out how long our (US) oil will last at current rates of use.

1.35 trillion barrels proven world reserves

current usage is around 85,000 bbl/day= 31 billion bbl annual

let's see, 31 billion bbls into 1.35 trillion = ~44 years.

hang onto your hats folks. This ride is has only just started to move. We will pick up speed quite quickly from here on out.
