I have a confession to make

I bought a laptop last summer to take on vacation and hardly ever used it after that. About 6 weeks ago, I tried to use it and couldn't figure out the right password to get it to work, so I haven't been able to use it.

I have the password written down in a binder that I keep nearby with other passwords and information in it, but it doesn't work.

I think what happened, is that I wrote a phony password down, in case my oldest daughter tried to use the computer and found it in the binder. I probably thought I had it memorized well enough. It's kind of like when you have something valuable and you hide it where nobody else will find it, which usually ends up including yourself.
