I had a nightmare

That my newly replaced septic line cracked and I had to replace it again.

Oi! I need to get out more.

I had a nightmare

Welcome to the world of house anxiety dreams. I regularly dream that my new/old house has more rooms than I knew about... and each needs more renovation than the last.

Freud said a dream is a wish or a fear or both at the same time. I think this idea is still accepted by contemporary analysts.

What all happened the last time you replaced it?
What all happened in the dream [the 'elements']?
Were the feelings in the dream appropriate to what went on in the dream?

And how would you like to pay for this session?

There's a lot more meaning in the #2 post dream.

What's your guess? \/

"more rooms than I knew about"
These are parts of your personality that are only now coming to light.

"... and each needs more renovation than the last."
You want to improve these parts as they become known to you

So your home improvement effort is a metaphor for a self-improvement effort, kind of like in the movie "Rain Man", where their car journey was a symbol for another type of journey.

I'm not smart, I just read a lot.
Ya' know, ya' hear things, ya' see things, word on the street, etc.

I had a nightmare

I used to have nightmares about the sewer backing up. Every time it happened, I swore that this one wasn't a dream, but I always woke up from it feeling relieved. In these dreams, I would be in the basement, and the water would come gurgling up from the cleanout plug, and from the toilet and bathtub in the basement bath.
I was having these dreams about once or twice / year for a few years; until the sewer actually DID back up!

When it actually happened, it was exactly as it had been in the dream! The water came up out of the cleanout, which had a crack in the cast-iron pipe (and had to be replaced), and from the toilet and bathtub in the basement bath.

I haven't had the dreams since!

Did you have any clue this replacement would be necessary before and during the dreams? Even a stopped clock is right twice/day.

Not yet. I'm planning to apply for a grant from the Harriet Tubman foundation to do survey and research to see if the tunnel actually exists.

I had a nightmare

My grandmothers old farmhouse was part of the underground railroad. There was a secret passage from the basement to the river. In the basement, it was just a patch job and nobody ever knew it was there until my Dad collapsed the tunnel with the payloader. There were all kinds of artifacts in there. There was also a secret passage way around the chimney that my Mom and her siblings played in as kids. A developer bought her house and all her land from her ($350,000 for a huge house, several barns and 350 acres) about 22 years ago and burned the house down because they were afraid of it.

Dreams that come true. . .

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postdiction

"
Statistically likely
The prediction makes a claim for something that happens with enough frequency that a high hit rate is virtually assured. For example, predicting terrorism on any day of the year, or particularly around national holidays, anniversaries (or similar events), or religious festivals.
. . .
Counting the hits and not the misses
The prediction may be part of a series, but is singled out because it can be favourably interpreted, even if the series itself follows the laws of probability. For example, the prediction might correctly state movement on the stock market when previous or subsequent predictions have been wrong.
