IMO it depends on the taste of the future purchaser, so it may increase or decrease the value. I get a lot of calls from people to scrape their ceilings flat.

The builders we've talked to say that knock-down is cheaper than doing a good job of taping and sanding.

Walk into any cheap mobile or modular model home. Every drywall surface will be covered with knock-down.

In my opinion, knock-down decreases the value of a home.
