It has been near 100 degress, and humid, in Omaha for about a week now. But it rained this morning, and the temp has dropped about 20 degrees.

Ironically, less than 5 miles from my house is the Missouri River - that is flooded worse than it has in the last 75 years.

Low 90ļs today and a little less humid. We had a minor thunderstorm and some rain this morning. It's supposed to get cooler and less humid over the next few days. This still beats a 'good' weather report in the winter.

I got to witness 39C the other day when I was out of town. INSANE! I don't know how people live with this constantly. I was in the water most of the day. It was crazy to come out of it and still sweat and the water would actually dry within minutes. The water was cold too, but when it's that hot, the water is never cold enough!

Here's a visual to show just how widespread this heatwave really is.

But at least there's more than one way to get my favorite treat.

Looking pretty nice up there in BC VIP.

I’m sure am missing my Oregon Coast right now.

We've had highs around 100 since the first of June. 10-15 degrees above normal. They are predicting another 6 weeks or so of these temps.

And then after 6 weeks? Severe weather, tornados and then to shortly be followed by freezing our butts off.

I need an inside job.

HuhÖ.maybe itís not to late to become a flooring installer.

Well all the the local weather reports start off with "When does finally arrive..." seeing as how we have had cooler than normal, by a few C, temps this summer. Our grass is pretty green, the weeds are rampant, but the flowers aren't blooming as well as in the past due to mostly cloudy days. That being said I'm happy with our summer so far, been working most days outside getting the groundworks done for some commercial/multi residential buildings going up round here.

I don't miss my birthplace right now, Montreal, never really liked the humid summers (but didn't mind the cold winters), especially with no ac and up around 30C or so with humidity at 2am. Getting a good sleep was definitely an issue. Been out here for 14 years, 7 on the Island, and don't regret a single moment. I met my wife out here.

I hate every afternoon when I have to leave an air-conditioned job and walk to my hot truck. Bummer. I've thought about having a remote starter installed to solve that seven-minute hot to not so hot transition period problem while the truck cools off. The seats are hot the steering wheel is hot...well you know the routine.

Guess it shows who matters. We have had this excessive heat for 7 weeks. But when it hit New York and Washington, the media finally noticed. For anyone interested, some of the wheat fields in western Kansas have had 1/2" rain since Sept. 2010. So expect food prices to go way up.
