How hot is it where you live?

Between last night and noon today it was hot enough that one of my middle-aged chickens gave up the ghost.

How hot is it where you live?

After 103F a couple of days ago, we had 48F overnight and today it won't get out of the 50's. It will be in the 80's in a day or two.

Watching TV weather becomes difficult because the major 4 stations have huge meteorogist staffs 24/7 and cover about a 200 miles radius of weather extremes for the satellite network stations. Just a day after the 103F, we ended up getting little weather trailers at the bottom of the screen for frost warning about 200 miles north. This is partially due to the huge number(200,000?) of people leaving town (to the lake homes) on Friday and coming back Monday AM that want the weather available for both places for planning. - It gets very annoying especially in the tornado season (we had 155 tornadoes last year), when it is a safety situation.

OMG, just did the conversion on 103F. 39C! Holy crap! Did not realize it even got that hot anywhere on this planet. Only way I would live there is if I had N+1 redundant AC units that are 5x oversized for my house. Screw that, just make the house a big walk in fridge.

Oh, she would taste terrible grilled. She'd only be good for chicken and dumplins. But because I'm not 100% sure when she died, she got an honorable burial in a double layer of hefty bags.

My lawn guy thought that she might have broken her neck. He said when they ride the mower by the hens freak out and bang around the coop.

The nice part is, they aren't really 'pets' they're too dumb, so circle of life....blah-blah-blah.

Sounds like my neck of the woods. We had almost 100 degree temps then a frost warning 2 days later. Hope my tomatoes survived thru it... :-(

Was over 30C today. I've been wanting to get in shape by walking more but it's either too hot, or it's raining. Today was too hot, but I did it anyway. 7km walk. It's in a wood trail so at least most of it is shade. I still got sunburnt pretty bad though as it was not shade all the way.

Sat directly in front of the AC for a good hour after taking a shower.

Can't complain though, we only get heat like this a few times a year. May as well enjoy it.

We started having 'record high temperatures' back in March, and continuing almost daily since, my back porch thermometer has read 100F every day for more than a week, that and the unending drought has been brutal (and it's only mid-June!). The wood trim on my front porch is starting to pull away at the caulk line, watering the foundation isn't helping much, if we don't get a break soon I'm afraid the whole house will start falling apart. Arg.

Was 20C today. Perfect temp. I was out in shorts and no shirt most of the day doing stuff around the yard, with hardly no sweat. When it's too hot I'll just sweat too much and be uncomfortable and end up quitting after just one job.

Cleaned the windows, mowed the lawn, trimmed a pine tree (like 2 truckloads worth of branches... hoping to get someone with a truck tomorrow) and did a bunch of other misc stuff.

Still did not take down the Christmas lights though. lol

It got up to 107 in the shade, not sure of the index.

Did have 25mph+ winds all afternoon so I guess with the wind chill it was only 90 something. Probably should have gone back to work.
