Health care costs.

Our "free" health care is publicly funded through income tax. Yes, I do believe they are largely provicially funded, but the Feds pump money into the system as well.
While I'm certainly not saying our system is not without flaws, I've grown up this way and it just seems like you come out of the hospital or Dr. office with your wallet undisturbed.

This is a sore spot with me, why should the government be able to fine us for not signing up for a insurance that is just more garbage. With Medicare we could see a doctor, if he took Medicare and we paid 20% of the visit. Now we can only see who the insurance says we can, which are not good doctors or are a different kind of doctor.

My wife and I see a nurse practitioner who works for a pediatrician, we don't get to see a doctor unless we are referred to one. My wife sees a real doctor for her heart once every 3 or 4 months. When it is time to see her heart doctor, she has to go back to the pediatrician nurse practitioner, and pay $30 for the visit to get a referral to see her heart doctor and she has to pay the heart doctor $40.

Of course the doctor's office bills Medicare for the visit + they get the $30, just for a referral. Tell me it isn't a racket, it is easy to see why Medicare is going broke.

I like to have flipped when I had to go to the nurse last time, they sent me for a MRI of my throat, that cost a few dollars short of $8,000. That is robbery, I know all I paid was $150 the rest the government paid. I made a formal report for abuse of Medicare and was told,"oh that is about right for an MRI". I could go on and on but it would do no good.
