Hackers hit banks

Check your bank account. Hackers hit a bunch of banks last night and today. Our bank warned us and the media has not reported it yet.

I wonder if the hackers could erase information about home mortgages.

Say you have paid-off all but $10,000 on your mortgage, but the information is erased from the banks computer by the hackers. If a person didn't have all of their (paper) bank statements, how could they prove what is still owed, the interest rate, when the last payment was made, etc.?

Backups. This isn't Fight Club. Banks have LOTS of off-site backups for financial information.

That's the great thing about imaginations, you can just ignore reality!
