Barb a good trick if you dye eggs with your day care kids. Draw your design with crayon before dipping in the dye and the picture wont smear

Good Friday

Canadian Bacon is back bacon? I bought a couple packages of it pre-sliced a couple days ago.

Where is a good breeze when you need it?! My house smells like egg salad sandwiches. The windows are open, but it's getting down into the 30's tonight, soooo..... what's better, a smelly house or a cold house?

Oh boy. I did a stupid thing today. The daycare kids were talking about the Easter bunny quite a bit. I joined in the conversation telling them, "If you're good, the Easter bunny will hop hop hop up your driveway and leave an Easter basket with lots of goodies for you to find Easter morning".

When one of the little girls was being picked up by her mom, we were talking about it still and I got a funny feeling about it from her. So I asked her if the Easter Bunny leaves baskets at their house. She said he doesn't. But her daughter will be getting a pretty dress and will be looking for eggs.

Except now, thanks to me, she's going to be expecting a basket with candy in it.

STOP RIGHT THERE

HOLD ON A MINUTE SISTER.....SAY no TO GUILT

Wait ...there is no bunny????

Seriously though, I'm going to assume the child in question is 2 or 3 and your house is her first social experience. This may be her first social discrepancy, but it will not be the last.

Who are we to judge what another parent feels is right for her kids??

However, this parent has chosen to surround her child with others, who 99 percent of follow the same traditions.

Santa, the bunny, the tooth fairy. For me and obviously for you they are a huge part of the magic of childhood. If this mom chooses to opt out of the "norm" and allow her child to watch the other kids burst with the excitment that comes with it, then it is her responsibilty to explain the situation to her kid. And part of the explanation better darn well include strict instuctions not to spoil it for others.

I have gotten very creative over the years trying to cover up when others try to tell my kids 'your mom is lying" My own sister is a devout Baptist, whose children have been instructed not to tell or " Aunt Jannie will kill you"
Personally, I will face the music when the question of what else have you lied about arises

Barb you are not a mind reader and your responsibility lies with the greater good for the majority

Remember always say NO to guilt!!!

I'm back!!

Nice egg---------------My computer is finally working (sort of)

A fun way to decorate eggs---You need a pan of water 2 inches deep,or so--and some oil based model paints--

Drops of several different colors are floated on the water--swirl the colors a little bit with a stick--lower the egg into the water, using a wire holder--move eggs around to gather up the colors.

Add glitter while wet if you like---
