Front porch - "The Leader of the Pack"

I arrived on this planet in 1949.
A "puppy".
I grew up.
Got to hang around on the front porch.
(Nice place!)

Eventually - I saw, things were happening, out in the "Tall Grass"
"It's the "Big Dogs".
"What are they doing?"
"Never mind"!

Being an "inquisitive", "Dog" -
I decided to find out!
The "Big Dogs" could be a little "harsh" with a "Puppy"!
I ran "yelping", back to the friendly, confines of the porch.

Hmmm!???

I decided to try and learn what was going on in the "Tall Grass".
I learn.

There comes a time when I feel I've learned something.
Back into the "Tall Grass', I go.
I'm going to deal with the "Big Dogs"!

I've acquired a "repertoire" - I'm very "quiet".
I'm not foolish enough, to try and deal with a whole "Pack", of
"Big Dogs" at once.
So, I arrange one-on-one, meetings with members of the "Pack.
Things didn't turn out, very well for them!!
(Don't worry, no "ER" visits!)
I was "lurking" around in the "Tall Grass", watching!

Eventually, I run into the "Leader of the Pack".
(Yeah, I set it up!)
A very different person, when he didn't have a group of people to
back him up!!

Time to end this.
An esteemed, member on this "Forum" brought something up, a while back.
Stories, where the "Bad Memories" come into play.

This has happened.
For the moment.

Happy New Year!

Got "Bullied" growing up.
Found a way to deal with it.
Definitively!
Didn't get "Bullied", anymore!

Happy New Year!

Peace!!

"the older kids in the neighborhood picked on you in a group but you took care of them one on
one?"
Not always - sometimes it was 2 or 3 against one.
A learning experience!

Like they say, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

What did you do to make them stop bullying you Ross?

I remember a bullying incident that lasted a few weeks when I was in 9th grade. I didn't want to go to school anymore. All 3 girls were older than me and 2 of them were around 250 lbs. to 300 lbs. One rode my bus and I think she was born big and mean. Really mean.

This thread must have jogged my memory - I haven't thought about that in years.

I joined the wrestling team.
Went from 192 pounds, to 127 in 3 weeks.
(Yes, I was "sporting a little weight"!)
(No! - I was "Big Boned"!)

Learned how to throw people around like, "proverbial" -
"Rag-Dolls"
No one "played" with me, after that.

I went through it -
I didn't like it -
"Bullying"!

Happy New Year!

Most bullies are scared little rabbits by themselves with insecurity issues.

Good on you to prove just that to them. They may never have realized it otherwise.

"Doc Holliday"

I agree with what you say!

However, I was just like any other: very, young, person -
I was just trying to "get through, another day".
Trying to learn something - didn't need "threats"!
Whether "Real" - or ancillary.

Happy New Year!

RF

My intent with this little, story - was to bring up this problem -
(Which, seems to be very prevalent)
Bullying!
Listen to your children!
