Flooding up in Duluth MN/Superior WI

Apparently we got about ten inches of rain in the last 2-3 days, woke up to some flooding in town. Both our cities (the 'Twin Ports') are right on Lake Superior, we don't get tornados or any really bad weather events. This was one for the memory books, though. All these pics were within 10 blocks of my house in Superior. Duluth got it much MUCH worse, made the national news I guess. I didn't see it...I was pumping storm water and sewage out of my mom's basement :-(.

My neighborhood has hoses out into the street at every other house, pumping out basements.

Duluth is on a steep hill. All that water running downhill destroyed everything in its path. Killed at least a dozen zoo animals, etc. Google it if you get a chance...I'm just in awe at the power of continuous rain. Our leaky basement stayed relatively dry (a miracle in itself).

Saturday should be a good day to get a great deal on a used car with deep discounts available to all buyers.

This is true. Hmmm....I'll have to stop by there. They still have their ad on the radio. It's a Cadillac dealer.

Seriously, sorry about the hard luck to the folks up that way. I'm glad you personally didn't get it too bad

The alternative is to cry. You have to find something good in everything.

Like the day I fell and landed on a brick patio. My Ins. agt. called right after that while I was lying on the bricks setting bones to ask how business was going! I was able to quit crying and lmao then. 4 broken bones and it's the only time he ever called me!

On a serious note, I'm sorry for the troubles you're having.

I know how devastating nature can be to mere humans and animals. Nature will win in the end no matter how much we prepare though.

I appreciate the thoughts. Yep, all you can do us keep on truckin'. Helping neighbors clean up and keeping the pumps running is more than enough to keep busy with. We'll bounce back.
