Pistachio kulfi. Kulfi is a creamy Indian and middle eastern version of Western ice cream more like gelato in texture. Kulfi also comes in flavors like mango and malai. I have seen it with dates and raisins too. I am not wild about the saffron. The pistachio is to die for!

Of course I could pig out on caramel gelato any day also. I am not so wild about most Western ice cream any more. Something about all the air whipped into it.
It is weird. Even though gelato and kulfi have a creamier texture than Western ice cream, they are lower in fat. Of course after scarfing down an entire box of kulfi bars the difference in calories is negligible.

If the restaurant has it, ginger ice cream is great after sushi too! Some place have red plum too.
And of course wagashi, Japanese confections, are as beautiful looking as sushi!

A couple of years ago - I was working on a house, for my boss's lawyer.
Freeport, Ill.
Union Dairy -
Right by the library and the place that Lincoln and Douglas had a debate.
Really good ice cream!!!
Butter Pecan - Black Walnut!!
To "kick the bucket" for!!
It's almost worth a "road trip", for the ice cream!

Rocky Road probably is one of my top favorites too. Where I live, the store brand is SO much better than the name brand. Can you believe that? That's something you don't hear often, but it's true. Store brand has more rich flavors, and chunky pieces in it.

Remember these things when you were a little kid ? Made from juice or kool aid. I still prefer something fruity and juicy over thick sickly rich stuff

I remember those!
I also remember $.05 double stick popsicles near the store by my grandparents. Nobody worried about us being abducted walking there either.
And of course there were the roadtrips from Hell. My sister would get car sick when she ate near anything. One of her favorite tricks when eating ice cream cones was to bite the bottom out of them thinking she could work the cone from both ends or something. Imagine a car on its way from Minnesota to California or back). No air conditioning. Soft serve ice cream and fast food barf everywhere.
