Favorite 70's rock bands

Just can't get the final chords of this April Wine song out of my head. The part after the table top hockey game.

So Canadian. Hockey.

Gotta love the hair too.

Feel free to add your favorites

Re: Favorite 70's rock bands

Oh gosh!
Don't get me started on this... Alice Cooper, The Who, led zep, T Rex, Red Bone... there is no favorite. They're all just so great. I have a whole hard drive full of it in the van and blast it regularly through four 1200 watt amps. The wife says she hears me coming from a block away.... she says the neighbors think I'm stuck in the 70's

Re: Favorite 70's rock bands

I am not going to pick Smoke on the Water as that is too obvious and every kid's garage band tutorial. The rest of their stuff was great too.

Cannot forget Steppenwolf either. John Kay was Canadian/German.

Plus, back then we had real album art and it was great and something you looked forward to seeing. Gone with CDs.

Re: Favorite 70's rock bands

Lol Good Thread! I'm stuck back there too. Leonard Skynard, Crosby Stills, George Therogood. My garandaughters come over and we have rock concerts lol normally it's kid bop stuff but they listen to mine too. 7 year old asked me the other day when it was my turn to pick. "You want some bad to the bone Paw Paw" lol

Re: Favorite 70's rock bands

Yeah and kinda stopped buying music in the late 80's once Mikey Jackson and Boyz doing Boyz and all that slop/disposable Pop came out.

Probably last albums I bought were some Bob Seger/John Cougar. Bought some Dixie Chicks and Steve Earle too. Got a bit more eclectic because Rock with good lyrics died IMO. Now it is You Tube and the Classics.

Dwight Yoakam does both and you would not expect that. Did Panic Room with Jodie Foster. Cannot recognize him w/o the cowboy hat. Dude is pretty bald.

Deep Purple has always been near the top of my list. We'd play that Machine Head album over and over and over again.

I never thought I'd get a chance to see them but low and behold they showed up at an Indian casino near me a year or so ago. That was a lot of fun!

Saw Steppenwolf on my 21st B-day (small venue front row balcony right next to the soundboard), that was pretty cool too.
