I guess you'd call me a Christian who might sometimes be on shaky ground because I still find myself getting angry with God from time to time. Yes, and I question His perfection at times.

I'm pretty sure I can't be classified under Atheism, Agnostic Atheism, or Agnostic Theism because how can you get mad at someone unless you're sure they are there to get mad at?

Sadly, what often pains me is the total ignorance of any sort of personal relationship with Jesus by many clergy who have Bible history and theology degrees up the ying yang.

One of the ongoing themes of the Bible is the vast and highly respected knowledge the worst of the synagogue leaders had... yet they knew nothing of the nature of the God they had built their professional careers upon.

Conversely, the band of uneducated, rough-and-tumble fishermen, political thieves, and a few whores were called 'brothers' and 'sisters' of the Christ.

What do you think of the twisting of facts by certain churches to further their beliefs? For instance, a pope decided that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute although no where does it say that in the Bible. He thought she overshadowed Mary, the mother of Jesus because much of the populace revered her.

Nothing disrespectful intended here (and I truly mean that), but who cares?

I've managed to thumb through a few pages of the Bible in my 66 years, and nowhere have I found that I am to give a hoot about what some guy decided about a character in the Bible.

Nor am I to worry about the ranking of people in the story.

Is there anyone who walked the Earth above Jesus? I don't think so. Is there "any other name by which we are saved?" Nope.

So, to let ourselves get hooked up in ANY of this superfluous rhetoric some misguided men (like Harold Camping or any pope or preacher) espouse serves but one function. It diffuses our concentration.

You suppose there is a reason we are told to put our shoulders to the plow and not look back? I suspect it might be because our creator just might know how susceptible we are to being distracted with all the curious and shiny baubles of intellectual wondering and wanderings ours and other people's imaginations can conjure up.

I made this statement to a friend many years back without really giving too much thought to it.

"It doesn't matter when 'The End of The World' comes for planet Earth. It will come for each of us that moment we breathe our last breath."

It was just an observation to me, but it must have made a huge impact on him. He immediately responded with some very surprising changes in his life. I guess he realized that we never know when that last gulp of air will come for each of us.

Ah...... "The End of (life in) The World" as we now experience it, Leah, but not the end of life eternal.
