Electrical rewire estimate

I'm going/want to get my 1800 sq ft house rewired. I'm getting a Estimate from him today. How much is too much to pay a friend of a friend to do the work. (He is a Electrician and doing most of the work). I live in S. Carolina, buying Everything that is needed. Its getting ALL New Wiring, it has roughly 35 plug in receptacle's,15 light switch's..some are already new. Electrical Service Box is Great.
He just has to pull wires & hook them all up! Thanks

Don't fret over this,, You can never pay too much, and I'm sure the electrician will agree with this,,

RS Means, the publisher, puts out books on ZIPcode-corrected estimates for all kinds of work. Peek in one at your local Border's Bookstore.

I would pay $0.00 and do the work myself, just like I'm doing now. This IS a diy site, after all.

Same here, it's a huge job,but just do a bit at a time.

Remember, the estimate of an electrician probably does not cover the cost of repairing the drywall, if any needs to be removed to pass wire. You'd have to do that work yourself or hire someone else. Maybe some electricians will do it too and include in the price though. something to consider if you do contract it out.
