Eagle Cam!

Just thought I'd share this for any wildlife lovers. Watch it live 24/7:

http://www.farmyou.com/falcon_cams/index.html

This is really fascinating to watch. Mom/dad take turns at the nest feeding the babies. Todays cuisine is fish, the other day was a rabbit.

There are uneventful moments, but the feeding and the activity of the three young ones make it all worthwhile.

Eagle Cam!

Thanks for posting the link Jay. I opened a tab a couple days ago and keep checking in on them. It's neat to watch.

Yesterday the camera was panning the area around the nest. It showed a farm and fields and the some of the road where all the traffic sounds are coming from.

Do you know where the nest is (what state)?

Yesterday evening, when the camera was moving, one of the adults was sitting in the nest watching the camera move.

Last night the 3 babies were in the nest, but the parents weren't.

I can't seem to find the page that has the info, but I'm pretty sure it's in Iowa.

The parents leave the not-so-little guys unattended more often now. I don't recall when the young ones started flying last year, but they're getting anxious now. Their wingspans and feet are getting really big....

You were right, it is in Iowa. Is this the link you were looking for?

Did you watch the video of how to tell the mom and dad apart?

Not to be gross or anything, but have you ever seen how they.... eh-hem!.... go potty?

They back up all the way to the edge of the nest, lift their tail feathers and squirt it out a couple feet away from the nest.

The mom & dad have been bringing new sticks for the nest this morning and one of the babies was moving one of them around.

Last night, when there was hardly any chirping and no traffic, you could hear the sound of water flowing. Maybe there's a stream or river below the tree.

I think I'm getting addicted to watching them.

Eagle Cam!

The Eagle Cam is going to be featured on Jeopardy! on Monday, May 21.

My mom informed me of this yesterday. I just did a quick Google search, which didn't turn up much, other than this: http://www.decorahnews.com/news-stor...2/05/2733.html

Not sure if it's going to just be one (or a few) answers, or an entire category. We'll see. I like the show, and would have been watching it regardless.

It's windy there right now and one of the babies keeps spreading his wings out and bouncing up and down. A minute ago, he was doing that and jumping back and forth over one of the other baby's, like he was playing leapfrog. Then he jumped and got about about 10 to 12" off the ground (nest).
