dream car

Had mine once, got stupid and sold it. My dream because I built it.

1963 Falcon Ranchero. 260 V-8. Buckets and interior out of '63 Sprint. Did all the work myself from the ground up. Including building the V-8 and 4-speed.

Depends on the condition of the car and what you consider "expensive" is.

I've been checking Craigslist and you see them for $1,500.00 and up.

I still expect to spend about 10 k so not cheap but it would be worth it

I thought so.
Had a friend (a long time ago)
He owned one - yes, "Jaquar Green".
I got to ride in it!
Nice machine - very nice!!!
Too bad they have "tuning" problems
(So do the XJ-12's)
Still - Nice!

dream car

My sentimental one would be to find another car like my first one - 1963 Buick Skylark convertible in dark metallic blue-green (teal) with a white interior and bucket seats. - $ speed with an aluminumum 215 V8 and 215 hp and about 2700#. Great performance and great mileage and it cost $2800.With no budget, my dream car would be a Bugatti Veyron coupe, but the $240,000 cash down payment for an order and coming up with the rest of the $2,430,000 (and rising daily) in two years. World's fastest production car (268 mph), powered by 2- rare small VW V8s (238 ci)with twin turbo chargers (4 total), computer controlled spoiler, computer controlled everything, leather interior, silver and wood interior. You have to go to Germany the be measured before production starts and then return to approve before receiving. Since Bugatti is owned by VW Porsche, it is the ultimate in design and production. It is one of the two ways to get a VW V8 into the U.S. - You can dream, cant' you?

chrisn - You must have a tan leather interior and a tan top.

Albeit Bugatti took back the title of World's fastest production car, the newer American made Shelby Ultimate Aero (who originally took that title from Bugatti) have an estimated top speed of over 300 mph. When Bugatti took it back the Aero was only at 256 mph, since becoming lighter with much more powerful engines.

Bugatti? Where? Oh yes, in my rear view and fading quickly.

"Willie T"

I had the pleasure of riding in the exact type of car your picture shows.
The year was 1968.
Car - AC Shelby Cobra (Not a Mustang) - the real deal!!
427 cu. in. - 5 speed Z-F racing transmission - de-tuned to street.

55 mph - 3rd gear - my friend asks me if I want to see what it can do.
Sure!
Peddle down - smoking tires, fish-tailing, g-force!! Yahoo!!!
4th gear, more of the same - not as much smoking and fish tailing.
5th gear - we're flying.
I look over at the "speedo" - 155 mph!
(It still had "guts"!)
I tell my friend - "I don't want to die today".
(Eisenhower Expressway - 1:00 am in the morning!!)
We lived! - no tickets!

It was fun!

rossfingal

(By the way - Cobra would be my second choice!! - Ok, maybe first!)
