Love it.

One of the places on my bucket list but I am not sure Teddy belongs up there with the other 3 in terms of American Presidential importance.

What filter program do you use on your phone?

Serving at college level. Easier to shoot than the younger ages. When they reach college level, they know their assignments and everyone doesn't bunch up going after a ball.

For those of you that enjoy digital photography, Panasonic has just patented a new chip that could very well revolutionize the way you take pictures. Don't you hate it when you take a close up portrait shot for example and instead of getting nice crisp focus on the eye, you miss and it's back at the ear, or nose? Or the same thing if you're trying to get a close up of a flower or insect and instead you get some blade of grass in the foreground.

Of course, once you've shot the picture and the bug has flown, there's nothing you can do about it...until now. There have been two companies, Lytro and Raytrix, making so called "light field" cameras (more later). The only problem they have is they capture the light field at only 25% of the chip's full resolution. Panasonic's patent (http://lightfield-forum.com/2014/04/...eld-recording/) for the first time, captures the light field at 100% chip resolution. So, what does this mean?

It means, that using a conventional camera ( with a Light Field chip) and standard lens, you can take a single snapshot that allows you to do all of the following, and actually more, AFTER the picture has been taken and stored on your memory card.

Change focus from near to far, or vice versa
Make everything in a out of focus picture sharply focused
Change the depth of field
Change the perspective (slightly)
Change it into a 3-D image.

I can't wait for this to hit the shelves! Below is a link that contains an example picture showing the ability to refocus. Click on the squirrel's nose, then on the tree behind him. That's just a minor example. When the image first loads, if you slide your finger (iPad) or cursor around in the frame, like dragging it, you can see some of the 3-d content revealing itself.

OK, one more tidbit. Here's the best explanation I've seen, in non-technical jargon, of what the light field is.

Depth of field is what I have to fight shooting volleyball. Most refs won't allow flash to be used. So I have to use what light is available. That's why the 1.8 aperture lens. Under the best conditions in the gyms I can just get 500 shutter speed. In those conditions, the depth of field is only about 10 to 12 inches. Everything before of aft is a blur. I usually shoot 4 or 500 pictures in a weekend. Out of that I get maybe 30 keepers. If money wasn't an option, I would up grade to something with a better sensor.

I added some grunge effect along with tonal contrasting and textures.

Do You Enjoy Taking Pictures?

I use my camera for numerous tasks but probably enjoy it for nature pics more than anything.

Not knowing all the in's and out's of the camera and computer I'm limited mostly to what I see is what I get. If I can't get it with zoom, macro and set on auto I'm out of luck.

Pictured is a Lark Sparrow nesting and a Barred Owl sleeping with one eye open. Camera was about 3 ft. from his face.
