It has to be at 95 plus for two weeks straight for me to take the cover off mine. I love every single hot humid moment of summer

I like finding quiet spots in state parks during the summer months. With so many of them having WIFI these days, I can actually get a lot of work done at night too. This was a spot I had at Buescher State Park for several days last fall.

I like to fish with the grand-kids- lots of lakes close by.
North Idaho has family fishing spots that are easy access and close by.
But if the fish aren't biting in the small pond, you take the canoe to bigger water

Do You Enjoy Outdoor Activities and Camping?

I enjoy hiking and camping for the nature aspect... which i'm finding harder and harder to get lately, for two reasons :

1. It's hard to find a campsite that is removed enough from society to block out, say, road noise (I admit that this would be easier if I were the type who would hike out to a campsite instead of drive; I am not that hardcore, I am ashamed to admit).

2. People bring EVERYTHING with them camping now, including radios and TVs (waht's the point?!) so campgrounds tend to not be very relaxing anymore.

Obviously each experience is different. I've had much better luck on the west coast or off-season (Crater Lake in Oregon when it was in the 40's was an experience for sure, and camping in Sequoia Park / King's Canyon in California was nice).

Camping out was more fun in my younger years but in my later years I find pleasure in camping out in my son's back yard.

Do You Enjoy Outdoor Activities and Camping?

Tent camping is out for us now days, we have a small camper. It is nice to go where all the outdoors is and play all day, fishing and such, but when it comes bed time I want to be nice and clean and have a comfortable bed to rest up for the next day.

The days of sleeping on a lumpy ground are gone, we couldn't get up even if we did get down. Trying to sleep all sweaty on a lumpy ground is not my idea of fun. Another great thing about a camper is you don't have a lot of packing to do, just hook up and go. Ahhh that is the life, just try taking a social security nap on the ground in the sunshine, not this ole boy. LOL

How ever, it is fun to cook and eat outside, there is nothing like the smell of coffee and bacon in the crisp morning air and the fish calling your name.

Do You Enjoy Outdoor Activities and Camping?

Our temps are hovering around 30-40 degrees now. Although it's been known to snow here on Easter, I'm getting itchy to go to the woods or on short weekend road trips. Seeing the pictures posted above just adds fuel to the fire....
I started window shopping for camping gear too

An hour or two away is an old gold producing region. The local treasure hunting club has a large claim on the river that is open to the public for a small fee. It includes an unimproved camp site. I want to give it a try this year. Maybe I'll find some color......or just some memories

I also don't enjoy sleeping on the "lumpy ground," but my compromise is an air mattress. I know it makes me a wuss, but...

That does sound like a lot of fun, I watch the gold show on TV, for some reason it holds my interest. Is that you and one of your grandsons in the picture above? Even if you didn't find any gold the memories would be golden.

Yep, thats me, a Grandson, granddaughter sitting, wife with the camera, and son in law. They aren't the outdoors type so we went to a local hole where the state allows license free fishing and supplies the gear- lots of planters there for some action.

The panning, metal detecting, rock hounding, etc. has always interested me.
A few years back I dug for star garnets with my son- had a blast mucking around in the wet clay soil with a shovel and screen- found some nice ones too!
