Do places like home depot deliver on the spot?

I want to do some house related projects once I have the money, and I'd need to buy stuff like studs, drywall etc. Do places like Rona, HD and so on deliver on the spot? I don't have a truck. How much do they normally charge? i know this varies on location but just curious what is typical.

I can always borrow a truck from my dad (he works at the GM dealership) but I don't want to always bother him for that, and I don't really like using vehicles that arn't mine especially if I risk scratching it.

Most places HD-Lowes schedule the deliveries a few days out
HD has smaller trucks they rent $19 an hour

they not only do the above but lowes will load up anything you buy and deliver it to your door for 80. this is a pretty good deal if you're doing a major remodel and need a bundle of plywood, cabinets, roofing shingles and other large, heavy items.
