DIY ice chest/console in my van
I have a Chevy Astro that I want to make more travel worthy and liveable. I am especially interested in finding some kind of console to put between the two front seats that has a couple of uses. The main function will be an ice chest. The empty space is mostly square - most of the ice chests I have found are rectangular, so I have not been able to find an "off the shelf" solution. Also, I would like the ice chest to be able to hold a sheet of ice about 2" thick and the same dimensions of the base of the chest. A block of ice will last longer than cubes. Lastly, it would be nice (but not necessary) if it looked nice :)

I would like suggestions into how to make this, what kinds of materials to use, design, etc. If you know of something like this that I can buy, I am open to that also. Googling has not helped much.

take a look, this will fit in a full size ford van, only draw back no drain plug, i use a syphon hose to drain.

OOPS sorry, just saw you had a astro van, so this won't fit :o(
