"DIY" - cooking/baking - story

Was outside petting a neighbors dog, you know the long haired kind where the hair hangs over its face. You just can't tell which end is which. I was petting the dog and my neighbor said, "its head is on this end", I responded "well then, I don't guess he is going to like the treat I just gave him then".

Does anyone here make your own trail mix?

I hadn't until yesterday. I had a bag of coconut and some smokehouse almonds sitting on the counter top and the thought of making some trail mix popped into my head.

Here's what I put in it....

A handful or two of each-

coconut
almonds
raisins
salted sunflower seeds
m&m's

It turned out pretty good.

Any suggestions as to what else would be good in it?

The dog is probably thinking, "Hey mom! Turn the temperature out here back up."

Are your trees and flowers blooming?

German Shepherds have double coats. Its sunny so he has no choice, we're heading out. He is so furry I don't even bother putting the vacuum away

I was just looking at the flowers..tulips are about 6 inches up and some trees have a few buds opening. I sure hope the flowers make it.

Good Morning every one!

It's chilly here and my wood stove is outside so I can paint the house---and refinish the floor.

The surest way to get busy with work is to start a project at home----Mike----

Hummmm, strange that these posts from the 23rd didn't show up until today for me, must have been the sorry jokes I told. It has cooled off a little here also, the highs have only been in the mid 70s.

Everything is a month ahead of schedule here, the dogwoods have already bloomed a week or so ago and they usually don't bloom until the second or third week in April. It is really weird to see irises in full bloom so early. One of our grandsons helped me cut grass a couple of days ago and now it needs cutting again. I bet the fish are biting good also. I guess I am stuck inside for a little while though, my blame back went out last night trying to play a bowling game with two of our grandsons. Oh well I wasn't planning too much anyway, but I do want to clean the shop up a little.
