"DIY" - cooking/baking - story

I guess I should stop complaining though. It was only a short time ago before this clan discovered each other, that I was complaining about all the waste. At least these newcomers aren't doing that

Well, it sounds like you lucked out having a great bunch of kids hanging out at your house.

I didn't think you were complaining at all.

Is your son feeling better?

The Pavlova is in the oven! The strawberries are cleaned and ready to go. The cream is in the fridge, waiting to be whipped.

I wonder if it was named after Pavlov (sp?) the 'salivating dogs' guy. When the dessert is all put together, does it make a person's mouth water?

You were right too. It is really easy to make.

Let me know if you like it. I'm pretty sure it won't disappoint

Thanks for asking about Michael. The Dr. didn't call back yet, so I'm going to assume the results were good. Annie has it now. She's not happy. Round 2

The dessert is a success! I like that it's not overly sweet. I'm going to give some to the daycare kids tomorrow for snack. They're going to love it.

Wow! It was 82 here today! Had all of the windows open. Unbelievable for March 14th. Our previous record for today was 75.

Still looking for the first Robin.

"DIY" - cooking/baking - story

With this weather being like it is, something is going to happen, I can just feel it, I bet it is going to be ooooone hot summer. The Bradford pear trees have almost lost their blooms already.

If I don't get off my lazy fanny and cut the grass it is going to be too deep to cut. I just hate to get the mower out the first time for the year, it always has two flat tires and I have to push it around front to boost it off. Last year I did that and started off to cut the grass and the spring fell off then wouldn't start again for a while. Maybe it won't be like that this year... yeah right.

Dang it Barb. Doctor just called and Michael tested positive for strep, Apparently scarlet fever is a strep infection with a rash. Back to the clinic for Annie
and a couple of prescriptions.

I've been wondering about that too Jim - if this is going to be an unusually warm summer. Hope not!

Good luck with the lawn mower. I remember the first lawnmower I bought years ago. Brand spankin' new. Had to buy a new one so I didn't have any problems with it, since I don't know how to fix a used one.

Well, apparently - for me - the age of the mower had no bearing on how well it worked. I read the directions, got the handle put on it, etc. Put oil in it, and gas.

Then, for the next 45 min. (?) I tried everything I could to get that thing started. It wouldn't start. Why, I even tried calling it names and threatening to take it back to the store.

Then, the neighbor guy came over and asked if I needed some help. I told him no, that there was something wrong with it.

He proceeded to reach down by the motor, pushed a button a few times, pulled the string and the motor started right up. Then he showed me what I was doing wrong. Talk about embarrassing! I hadn't pushed any gas into the engine.

Creeper, I'm glad the doctor figured out that it's strep before waiting too long. That scarlet fever can be nasty stuff.

There is not much in this world I hate more than a pull rope motor that won't crank. Our ole lawnmower is a little over 20 years old so it should be giving us some trouble. Judy wants us to buy another one but as long as this thing will crank and cut I just can't see buying one. I had a chance to buy a good looking John Deere not long ago for little or nothing but I was afraid it was stolen. I sure wouldn't want to have a mower or anything else that belonged to someone else.

I can fix our mower or anything like that, I am just lazy.

Jan, I hope your little ones feel a lot better real soon, that is no fun being sick.

But isn't it nice to be talking about lawn mowers and not winter stuff?

Hurray !! Time to dismantle the ice rink !

Way too soon to get the tractor out here though

Last two days we topped out at 18 degrees or about mid 60's American style.

Barb and Jim as far as I'm concerned it can never be too hot in the summer. They are so short I love every single sweaty moment of it.

Thanks for the best wishes. The kids will be fine. No gruesome rashes thank goodness.
