I wondered if you were going to let him get away with changing the subject!

Oh, and I'm sure Jim and Mike are excited that you volunteered them to blow a kiss to Ross .

Keep up the good work 'mom'! Your son will be a true gentleman when he grows up - and while he's growing up.

Thanks for the affirmation Barb. There is a lot of ill mannered peeps out there isnt there. My eldest is dating now. The boys are like flys.

One fool showed up and had the audacity to sit in his car like a thug instead of coming to the door and meeting me.

With some gentle persuasion, she soon saw the light

Oh gosh. I sure don't miss the days when my girls were dating. Although, one is not married but I don't have any say in who she dates - so far very nice guys.

High school for them was a different thing. A couple of the boys they dated... - scary times. But a few of them were wonderful people.

I like how you said that - "With some gentle persuasion..."

Yes I'm sure you remember those rebellious years. Making demands usually results in a backfire, I think the trick is to make them think it was their idea.

You have to pick your battles when laying down the law. Besides, we are pretty close. She tells me her stuff

Now that's funny!

If you wave your hand in the air, it's the same as blowing a handshake - the guys version of blowing a kiss.

Oh, and.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSS!!!

I love this thread!

Does that mean I don't have to age another year?!?
Why didn't you people tell me that 30 or 40 years ago??!!

Don't worry -
just because I may not have a chance to respond -

"DIY" - cooking/baking - story

The roving pack of teenagers has stuck again. Yesterday the showed up mid afternoon. They ate the leftover bbq cheeseburgers.

Then they wanted to go out for dinner. "Mom can I borrow 20 bucks" borrow huh

Then they showed up again before midnight, just as I was crawling into bed. I could smell coffee brewing. Huh oh this will be a long night

They ate: a large bag of tositos, a jar of salsa. a bag of shredded cheese, a jar of raspberry jam (seedless of course) a 1/2 loaf of bread, a jug of juice, a large box of lucky charms (they're magically delicious) a litre of milk, a large bowl of grape jello (Mike is gonna be mad they didn't save him any. He made it after all) and..the remenants of a chicken wrap feed the little kids and I had for dinner.

She had a least the presense of mind to empty the dishwasher. However, I woke up to 2 teenage boys sleeping in the family rm. Thank-god the girls were in her room. (what am I new?)

There's no food in the house " can we get egg mcmuffins"

You need to do some investigating.

I'm thinking it's the owner of your local grocery store who's sending all these kids to your house.... drums up business for him.

One nice thing - well, a couple of nice things - when your house is their favorite hangout, you know where your kids are and you get to know what kind of kids they're hanging out with.

I agree with that philsophy Barb. This appears to be good group of kids too. They have their own booze free policy which is great because it eliminates that concern. I would call parents if I caught them drinking anyway, but they claim they don't. Plus they all have jobs
