"DIY" - cooking/baking - story

I'm glad the meat turned out well, its sounds like a good idea. I'm not sure I can get that organized at this stage of my life.

Shrove Tuesday, also known as pancake day, Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras
Always the day before Ash Wednesday. These dates somehow corelate to when Easter falls.

More importantly, We have always said " If you can just survive the winter until pancake day, you will make it" I can see the light at the end of the tunnel
I have visions of tulips and daffys
They are blooming here now, and the trees are getting blooms also. The frost will get them before all is said and done though.

My stars Barb, I would sure hate to see that much snow in a season. I love snow for a couple days then I want it gone, it starts looking bad after a couple days.

I agree Jim. It starts looking gray and dirty after a few days. I think it would be neat to install in-floor heating in the yard and driveway - just under the surface. I'm sure it wouldn't be terribly expensive .

Creeper, I didn't make the connection with the pancakes and fat Tuesday. I heard about another tradition on the radio today. Down in New Orleans, they bake something into a cake and whoever gets the piece with that object in it wins and has to bake the next cake. I left out most of the important details as my memory only passes bits and pieces of information on to my mouth when it's moving - or in this case, my hands when they're typing.

"gma2rjc"
I've heard about that "tradition", from New Orleans.
Sorry, I don't know/remember the details!

How's your computer???

I'm going to start a new "Topic" -
It involves a "Road-trip" (actually, an "Air-trip")

A simple one? Hamburger Helper... Oops, you probably mean from scratch.

I'll look through my recipes.

I don't have anything against "Hamburger Helper"!
It does not offend my "highly, educated, taste-buds"!

I've got a recipe -
it's a lot of "jumpin' through hoops"!
Too many ingredients!
Just asking!

Me either. It makes a quick lunch or supper. Sometimes quick is good!

I did find a fairly simple recipe at this link:

Basic Stroganoff---

Beef tenderloin or other tender beef---

Slice thin--sauter in butter S&P add garlic

Add a bit of flour and water or cornstarch and water to thicken the gravy

Add white wine

stir in sour cream--serve over noodles---

Got to go late for work--that's the basics--Mike---

Well, I hate to be a stick in the mud, but I do not like any hamburger helper, it is just not good to me, it just has a taste that I don't like. Kinda like making potted meatloaf. I'm sorry, I hope I didn't hurt y'all's feeling there. Maybe it is made better up north.

Jim, that's because you have a chef living with you .

Hamburger Helper is alright, but I doubt it wouldn't stand a chance compared to Judy's cooking.
