"Internet Explorer"?
What version?
Get "Mozilla/Firefox"!
Did this just happen - "out of the blue"?
You can have "IE" and "Mozilla" on your computer at the same time.
I do - no problems!

Ross, I am using Firefox but I do have IE but never use it. I deleted Chrome last week, I don't like that one at all, Judy likes Chrome best on her PC. When I fire my PC up this morning, there it was just out of the blue. I can turn that toolbar off but then I won't have a back arrow or a home Icon. I don't like Google at all but I really hate Bing. Bing is microsoft. I haven't tried a restore but I don't think that would get rid of it.

Don't like to see what's happening with your computers!
You brought up - having to "clean" your computers, if they're left on
overnight.
Having you're "home-page" changed - with-out your "intervention" -
Both of these things - not a good sign!
I could try and attempt something -
I would rather you "deal", with the experts!!
(The only reason I will do this is - "Judy", cut lose with a "Meat Loaf"
recipe!!)
I'll "PM" you with some instructions.

I finally figured it out on the Bing deal, there is a little drop down arrow in that search box, I clicked on that and it opened a lot of different search engines so I just clicked on the one I wanted and that was it. I still don't know how Bing just put itself in there though. Ross, both of our computers are old and maybe they are just wearing out. I have installed two hard drives in Judy's PC but when she first turns it on in the morning and the desktop screen comes on there are no icons at all and it takes a really long time for them to load. Sometimes I don't think they are going to. I do know we are running right at the edge of our RAM. I think with all the ads posting videos all the time it is eating our RAM too fast. I am going to check and see if I have ny sticks here that will fit our PCs and see if that helps.

I really do appreciate you helping me out buddy.

Your computer is not the same as mine - or, anyone else's.

Not knowing your Operating System -
the type of memory you have -
your "Motherboard" -
what your "Bios" is capable of -
Hard to say, anything.
Watch out for "static, electric, discharge"!

Your "sypmtoms" - start to show "browser redirects".
Could be indicative of other things going on.
Run "Hijack-This" -
see if it turns up something.
That's for a start.

rossfingal

(Remember, "Hijack-This" (used, incorrectly) can make your computer - "un-bootable")
(Warning "Will Robinson" - "Danger"!)

I have thought about downloading Hijack This but as clutsey as I am I would wipe it out for good. Back in the late 80s when PCs were running DOS, I wiped two totally out, never to be used again. I know you know about fdisk you really don't want to fool with that word on a computer. I wonder if you can reformat a hard drive with that word.

I am running XP pro
Pentium 4
1.7ghz
I believe 512MB Ram and I couldn't even beging to tell you what brand my PC is, it is a Hines 57. Judy's is a 8200 Dell with some parts changed out.

Don't use "Hijack-This", with out some guidance!
It's not as "heavy" as "Fdisk" - it can do "damage, though!

"Fdisk"?!?
I've got "Partition Magic" (Among, other things!) - now we're talking some
real "damage"!

Sure you can - just shout at the computer "F****" - or something to that
effect!
(I think it has something to do with "FUBAR"! - not, that sure!)!

rossfingal

You'll hear from me.

Ross, I installed Partition Magic on Judy's PC a couple of years ago when I installed a larger hard drive. It has been so long I don't have a clue how to use it, I just know Judy's PC has two drives on her hard drive using the Partition Magic.

"DIY" - cooking/baking - story

I just downloaded a Dutch Oven cookbook with over 100 recieps and a bunch are lookin goooood. By the way, for anyone who wants to do some dutch oven cooking here is a charcoal schedule to use to get the right temps in your DO.

http://www.dutchovendude.com/campfire-cooking.shtml

It is so much fun cooking in a DO there is no limit to what you can cook in one. Dun got hungry headed to the kitchen, back after while.

I hear ya, that is some fine eating and fun too. We cook ground beef, onions, taters in aluminum foil buried in the coals of the camp fire for 30 minutes then flip for another 30 minutes, man that is goood.

I have a few links to campfire cooking if you want them, Mike.

"Jim"
Do you know what version "Partition Magic" you have?
Very good program - if used correctly!
At the moment, I have 18 drives (logical).
Thanks to "Partition Magic"!
You do have to be careful with it!
(Like, you don't have to be careful with everything!)

I live on a main N/S "drag" -
Intersects with a main E/W "drag" - scenic, historic, Route 66 - Ogden Ave.
Yes, Rossi was on his way to the gas-station, for a "re-fill"
No turn on Red signs, everywhere.
Rossi almosts gets "run" over!!
Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!
Thank goodness - I gave up carrying "fire-arms" 30 - 40 years ago!!
(You're hunting - fine --- I don't hunt anymore)
Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

(Ha, ha, ha!!! - They missed me!!!)

"RF"

Wow! Nice link to "Dutch Oven" info!!
