DIY & booze

I'm still a newcomer here, and I apologize is this kind of thing is frowned upon here...but my wife and I just had an interesting conversation, and it prompted the following question:

Is there a DIYer who doesn't partake in alcohol to some extent?

This may sound funny, but having a 'beer break' during my DIY projects is an very very cherished ritual. For example, while I was putting together a 4' x 4' "patio" for my fire bowl this afternoon, I stopped to enjoy a tall boy before I poured my leveling sand.

Afterward I have a nice Guinness, maybe two! (on occasion, maybe 3!) And When it's cold outside and I have to address some kind of issue outdoors this celebratory "beer" magically becomes a whiskey or if my wife's around, a sherry or brandy.

I have nothing against teetotalers at al, and I'm not alcoholic or anything. I/We're just curious if this is a universal practice, or if it's just me. :)

I always drink beer while working in the garage or working in the yard.

Since my son was born my level of drinking has dropped a lot
I very rarely drink when I'm using power tools......I'd say not at all actually
With a cookout & friends I'll have a drink or two
I think I had enough in my younger years so my average is still up there

Totally. Who couldn't work in the yard without having a beer nearby the entire time???

As for garages, don't get me started! Every time I walk into someone's garage when they're showing-off some project or other, I'm immediately looking for the mini-fridge.

...something about garages.. creates an atmosphere that encourages beer.

Hey man, you seem to have enough going on in your life between your son and that palace you're building, so you have a viable excuse to watch the beer!

Yeah...I seem to be busy between the 2
Now frozen drinks in the hot summer...........
I'd love to have a frozen drink machine
We have a great blender....but I'd like to make enough for a weekend

It's to help steady himself when he's been drinking.

That's an anime styled "Chibi Wizard" my daughter drew for me in pencil.
I then inked it, colored it and then made it change colors. Thank You for noticing!
