Depressed..... Really bad!

I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, the wars, lost jobs, Savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc......

I called Lifeline.

Got a freakin' Call Center in Pakistan.
I told them I was suicidal.
They all got excited and asked if I could drive a truck.

Or fly a plane. Landing proficiency not required. Any way this is a DIY center not ...anything else. But a little humor is always healthy! (No matter what) Don't Drink and Drive, Ever!!!

Good One! But, as one who deals with chronic clinical depression (quite well with medication) and has worked works as a suicide line volunteer crisis counselor, remember that not all people experience the Holidays the same way. As you all know they come with a fair amount of stress for all of us and they are even harder for some. Holidays are the busiest times of the year for suicide lines and unfortunately for people who commit it. Please be sure that anyone you notice having a particularly rough time, isolating, etc. does get help if they need it. Take a moment and engage someone that may not have a lot of family and friends around this time of year. It could make a big difference.

I used to scoff at two things in life... depression and mid-life-crises. Having experienced both, I still try to keep an optomistic and light-hearted attitude about them, but I no longer scoff about them as being total BS like I used to.

Grew up as one but am not much of a church person anymore. I will mention though that there is a national campaign among them called Blue Christmas services. They usually happen around the Winter Solstice, December 21 and I guess some are really nice, especially for those who have trouble for whatever reason with the Christmas Holiday.

Granddad was a minister who built churches so not sure how he would feel about those only attending on Christmas and Easter picking another date, but worth a try if you are down and the dumps and your background is Christian.
