Craigslists Scores - good stuff

Hey Dave did you travel far to get bricks or did you find them locally?
I found a few places advertising them for free but hey are halfway up Long Island!!!!
The crushed stone and sand I think i'll just have a gravel yard deliver, too much of a hassle to try to pick that up.

How is the siding coming on the house?

I think I might have travelled 30 minutes for one load
Possibly 20 minutes for the 2nd load
The 2nd load was neatly stacked by the driveway & I just had to back up to the pile & load up
Now I try to limit my pickups to within 1/2 hour of the house
Unless its something really good

Siding still coming along, working on finishing up one side
I'm painting trim before I put it up, so that usually slows me down
As I need to wait for good weather to paint more

And with good weather I've been cleaning out the gardens
If I do not get them cleaned out before everything starts growing its much harder

I got 2 square of really nice vinyl siding for my shed plus a whole box of j-channel (I think that's what it's called) and a couple starter strips for $80. I think I got about 25 pieces of the siding that go for $9 each at Menards. Didn't price out the j-channel cuz I was happy enough with my deal. As an added bonus, it was a color that I wanted too!

Picked up a rain barrel for $70 - the owner had acid etched 2 plastic barrels and painted 'em a nice green - used copper and brass fittings. Only used one so he gave it to me for his cost, plus he tossed in the extra can of paint.

Gotta hook that up today....

Also, got six free pumpkin plants that are now growing nicely at the children's garden at the hospital where DH is medical director.

craigs list is also great for getting rid of stuff that you would otherwise have to haul away and pay to dispose of.

Not so much a Craigslist score, but I did manage to sell my Father in Law's Pontoon Boat and Large Storage tent. Both buyers were pleasent and no problems at all, especially since there were bigger ticket items (not your typical $20-30 items).
Cash is King, they say.

Well, just got back from another score... I got 8 Veranda PVC 105" Fence posts with caps and mounting brackets.... all 8 for $40! I thought maybe they would be used, scuffed, or stained, but to my surprise, they were brand new, still in the plastic, in perfect condition! These normally go for $40 each! I only needed 4, but couldn't pass up the deal. TJ
