Craigslists Scores - good stuff
It's amazing what people will throw away or just give away
I've picked up FREE:
27" Sony Trinitron TV less then 8 years old plus a nice coffee table
14" RCA TV only 3 years old now !!
Probably over 1000 bricks
16" square Patio blocks - maybe 400 sq ft
Stone dust w/above - maybe 2 yards (pain to shovel)
Free bushes "ewanus" (sp?), forsythia (had a dozen)
4x8 mirror (saved for the bar)
Jalousie windows
Sliding glass doors (not really surprising)
Asst other Patio blocks
Cement blocks 8x8x16 - maybe 200
Wall block - maybe 200 pics - big blocks
Speakers - used out by the pool
Tug boat sand box (gave away to someone else later)
2 electric powered cars for my son (sit in kind)
Loveseat (from neighbor) - we use it on the porch in the summer
5' fixed Andersen doors
At very good prices:
Lots of Andersen windows - almost all new, many still in the box
Wood swing set, 6'x6' sandbox, & tower/slide/fort ALL for $75
Big outdoor play castle for my son - $20 delivered
Old hot tub - buried for a pond, used the cover for sand box
My cupola - 4' square $250
not sure what else..........

Craig's list is one of the sites I check daily. I only wish they had a city located closer to my area.

Every time I go somewhere the wife wants to know where I'm going
"What are you getting now?"
Yesterday was the load of bricks - maybe 700 all together
Today was the 27" Sony TV & coffee table
We like free
I've been looking for a TV since our 26" TV died (23 years old?)

I am going to have to start listing junk I have on CL, 40X60 shed with barely enough room to pull my truck in to work on it.

CL is one of the first places I check in the morning.
I have scored lots of great things, both free and at a great price.
My greatest find was 26 sheets of privacy PVC lattice, gently used, for free! (Retail $28 per sheet).
My wife asked me what I was going to do with it, and I told her I wasn't sure, but I would figure something out.
Attached is a pic of one of my projects I used some for. I also lined an adjoining fence, and currently building a shed for my firewood.
I have also scored new vinyl windows, hardiboard siding, and gently used PT lumber.

I didn't know there was a market for the old CRT televisions; although free is the market.
I've been sitting on a couple of tvs thinking that nobody would want a standard def television let alone a CRT SD set.

Most of my CRT's have lasted 20 years without a problem
I'm not so confident the new LCD/Plasma Tv's will last even 1/2 as long
If I can PU a 27" for free that's a deal !!
But I see a lot of them listed for $25-100 or more depending upon size

if you like craigslist, check out www.freecycle.org
EVERYTHING offered on freecycle must be free, it's pretty cool.
You need to join a local chapter (it's free of coarse).
Stuff goes pretty fast. I have never been quick enough to get anything, but we have given away tons of clothes, baby stuff, etc, hopefully to people who can't afford to buy it.
I have seen people give away boats, horses, riding mowers, air compressors, and just about anything else you can imagine. it's a great way to get rid of stuff that you want gone.

Been kinda disappointed lately in my area on Craig's List. Not much worth even looking at. The economy must be finally catching up. Even so, I keep looking anyway.

It is to be expected, it is free to post so why wouldn't someone try to get something out of it.
Before I post this great deal on craigslist I will give members here a chance first. I have for sale four good tires; they hold air. Little to no tread left, but the cords are not showing through. Only replaced because they now border on being illegal.
