Cost of a new roof ?

I am trying to get a rough idea of how much it costs to have a roof replaced on an average roof on a 1400 sq. ft. house including removing the old shingles, with a minimum amount of repairs needed and using a 15 year shingle. Is there an average per sq. ft. price I can use for this. I need to include labor by a professional roofer. I know it can vary quite a bit but can anyone give me a rough idea?
Thank you,
David

Cost vary greatly from region to region even town to town.

Your best bet is to get a few bids from local roofers.

dunno where you're going to get a 15 yr shingle though. Find a few respectable contractors and ask them for advice and an estimate.

$250-$325 per 100 square foot of shingles remove and replace.

I would say you should pay about $4200.

Hey David
Sorry I just reread your post. I thought you said 1400 square foot roof.

With an 8/12 roof you will be more around 1900-2000 sf of roof so you will be closer to $6,000 (at $300 tear off remove per square)
