Closet space

I am remodeling my kitchen and had a idea to put my refrigerator in my wall,
the problem seems to be i will be utilizing 3/4 of my sons closet space his
room is already quite small so i needed ideas on how to do this or how to
build a closet in his room on another wall?

Great idea, I think that you'll find a larger kitchen will be a big benefit over closet space. I'd start by figuring exactly how much space your son needs, with the estimate on how that need may grow in the future. You could take over only as much closet as you need, and supplement it with a free standing wardrobe. If it's not hanging space that he needs under bed storage might suffice. Closets are fairly simple to frame in with 2x4s. Size the opening to your doors: bifold, sliding, hollow core or anything better. You could also use a simple rod with a curtain if that works for you. Can you take over space for a closet from an adjacent room?

It's been a while since you posted. Please let us know if you found a solution.

Best wishes,

Steve

I happen to catch a show that had a Fridge that they did this way. It really looked very cool, plus the space it freed up was cool too. Like Steve had said, the closet in your sons room I think is easy fix. I know when I growing up I had a captain's bed and loved it. With that I really didn't use my closet, I just folded all my clothes and put them in drawers. Either way let us know how you made this work!!
