Christmas Display - Ongoing but here's a Start

Well even tho its freezing out I decided to put out some inflatables
Car was out there w/tree on top & kids for an hour
So I put out the 12' snowman (3' in front of him), bumble (3' in front of him) & snowman lightshow
I thought they were just sticking around to see what I was putting out
But as it turns out there car would not start
They never said anything to me....they called a friend who got it started

I've been buying stuff for years, usually at the 50-90% off sales after Christmas
In 2006 I bought a TON at Lowes at 90% off
I wouldn't ask unless I'm ready to contribute. I just sit back and enjoy!!!

I was never big on inflatables, and I think you got me hooked!
These look really great.

Maybe it's because most I saw were always kinda flat, but yours look wonderful. I especially like the one that looks like a family, with the North Pole sign.

Oh, and man are they big!

Yeah! thanks. I should have (could have, would have) been the first one to figure it out. Because I used to live in Montreal, Quebec, where Christmas is called NOEL! And I'm usually good at figuring out puns. (look who's braggin') But sometimes you hit a (mental) stone wall and you can't figure out the simplest things. Thanks much, Anyway!!!

I haven't bought any decorations or lights since 2007
I still have boxes unopened in the basement
Stores aren't ordering as much stuff these days w/economy the way it is
HD did not have any Halloween decoration this year

In 2006 I was using the stores stock carts (the big ones) to pile up what I was buying
I actually had someone start to take stuff off the cart & had to stop them
They thought I worked there
I hit several stores & loaded up the truck...usually a trip to the store...then home to unload...then on to the next store

I'm hoping next year will be a big display
The wiring will be completed & major construction will be done
Just the simple interior to finish

I've installed most of my outlets with the ground up
As a result the decorative Christmas nightlights would be upside down
The one up high in the hallway is right side up
I have one on the mantle I need to replace -20a outlet on a 15a circuit
I'll do that & install it so the nightlight will be right side up

The rest of the night lights we use are LED & it doesn't matter which way faces up

How many months does it take to pay off dec's electric bill?

Well Decembers bill is in (closed on the 9th)....$110 less then last year, lowest in 3 years
And last year I hardly had anything up
I think its due to the heat being off until right before Thanksgiving
I have switched over fully to CFL & LED this year
Maybe I was using the hot tub more last year
Electric has gone down since last year----.0228 cents
Next month will be the bigger bill
Hoping not too big

And the big green LED tree is up.....this is really bright..maybe 25' tall ?
and the truck has some decorations, LED
They run off a converter when I am driving

A lot of the yard shots do not come out very good
Plus the pics make everything look jumbled together when they are pretty spread out

It's looking good Dave. Do you have traffic jams in front of your house at night?

Have you ever considered having some reindeer or elves looking out the windows in the boat with Santa standing up on the deck in the front (bow?)

In years past I have decorated the boat...rope light....illuminated balls
2006: the Xmas balls take 100w each...rope light uses up some juice too

In 2007 I had a hot air balloon on the front of the boat, Ho Ho Homer simpson driving & 10' Frosty in the back
I've cut back on inflatables & rope light until I have a job again
Once I'm back to work the display will be bigger
I have a ton of lights, rope light, inflatables & other stuff that will go out once I have a job...electric bill does go up if I put out all the inflatables
I had 36 out one year = ~3600w an hour
Plus they are a pain to take down & dry out
