Christmas Display - Ongoing but here's a Start

My 1st trip of the year
And of course its the ONLY GFCI that is outside
That will be fixed next year - after the season is over
It does have a bubble cover, all of mine do
So I had to go out & reset it, kicked again
I narrowed it down to the snowman line, so those are disconnected
Snow & rain & I think one snowman the connection is in a puddle of water
So I'm going to move him & test again

Yup, the snowman had his connection in the water
I moved it - actually pushed it up into the opening where it comes out his back
Plugged them back in & they are all working

You have to watch those snowmen:

I MADE MYSELF A SNOWBALL,
AS PERFECT AS COULD BE.
I THOUGHT I'D KEEP IT AS A PET,
AND LET IT SLEEP WITH ME.
I MADE IT SOME PAJAMAS,
AND A PILLOW FOR ITS HEAD.
THEN LAST NIGHT IT RAN AWAY.
BUT FIRST..... IT WET THE BED.

(I got that in an email too.)

Dave, please. When you go outside & reset the GFCI recept's or repair the wiring on any of the outdoor displays be extra, extra careful to shockproof yourself, wearing dry (from inside) rubber boots and insulated gloves. We all, who work with electricity aren't fazed by a little zap once in a while. But when moisture is involved it's a different ballgame. I once did some electrical work at a body shop. I was certain the circuit is dead. I nearly ended up being dead myself. Yes. I didn't follow lockout/tagout rules. Just casually shut the breaker. Someone else just as casually turned it back on. Luckily I was working close to ground. So I couldn't fall very far.

I do wear insulated boots, no gloves sometimes
I only use one hand to plug/unplug, other hand not touching the ground

Usually if a GFCI kicks off it stays off until the next day
But in this case I was pretty sure what caused it

Snowman (Electric) in Water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

THAT is the one thing I'm actually scared of!

No problems with anything that can hurt me, when it comes to tools or work related accidents.........EXCEPT ELECTRIC!!!!

Hate anything electric! will NOT touch it!

I can wire an entire house, but when it comes to hooking it up,

I'M GONE UNTIL IT'S DONE!!!!!

That reminds me, I need new wire for my oven.

Dave, You be careful out there.

Spark Plug, what are the lockout/tagout rules? ANY information about electric safety would be wonderful.

We did a clean-out when we moved here
Rather throw it out then move it
I've been getting rid of more stuff every year
We don't really have a lot junk, mostyly the Holiday decorations that need to be organized
Once those are squared away we will be all set

For the most part everything is checked before it goes outside
With New England weather snow & rain its hard to avoid some problems
One year GFCI's were tripping & they just stayed off until the next day
I'd reset them before the power went on
If they tripped again they stayed off until the next day & I'd repeat the process until they dried out

I've yet to be zapped in the yard, but everything is on GFCI
I even have a GFCI cord that I use in the yard
I have been zapped in the house...just a week or so ago with one of my Temp lights...touched the wire when I thought one was unplugged
Turns out one wire came loose

Scuba. Question. What is the significance of your previous "URL" ( Stamp out over L) I understood all of them since I came on board, including the current one (I don't know how long you'll keep this one? over the Christmas season?!

The decorations ?
No vacation for about 4 years....wife was pregnant...son was born
I've been buying stuff for years, usually at the 50-90% off sales after Christmas
In 2006 I bought a TON at Lowes at 90% off

Tomorrow/Monday will be the last day to decorate....then I'm done
Supposed to be close to 45, then it will be colder or rainy for a week

I have some inflatables lined up to go out:
Bumble, 12' snowman, snowman light show, 12' soldier archway, & snoopy in a plane for the roof

Rope light on the fence will not go up this year
A lot of the connectors are broken so next summer I'll install a new way to attach the rope light
