I was an extra in that movie when it was made in 1972. (Amongst 700 other extras.)

I have a vague memory of a bathroom renovation in the movie 'Soylent Green'... Where you the guy that was refinishing Charlton Heston's tub?

That was a very strange movie in many ways.

How did the movie get into the original post about American "Chinese" sausages from a MA original poster that liked them (whatever they were)?

We have a marvelous delicacy here in southeastern PA/Del area, scrapple. It is made from the stuff that they won't use for sausage. DELICIOUS!!!! Just don't read the ingredients label.

I was in Safeway once, and some kid employees comes up and asks me if I'm finding everything OK. I tell him I can't find the Soylent Green. He tells me he can show me where it is.

WTF? I go along just to see where he will lead me. He takes me down the cleaning supplies aisle.

I said No, no, no...that's SIMPLE green. I'm looking for SOYLENT green. He asks me what it is...

And without missing a beat, and in a very serious and dry wit manner, I answered him..."It's people".

The look on his face was priceless. I told him to go inquire next door at Blockbuster.

Just bil -

My wife is from central PA and also Philly and then CT and absolutely loves scrapple. I have tried to eat it. It is difficult to get here in civilization, but she found a spot locally that has it and it is a little cheaper than flying it in. Before she eats it on a Sunday morning, she warns me in advance so I can stay away and not ruin the whole day.

I was a 19 year old "hippie" back then, had no idea how to refinish a bathtub, and I don't think he even had one in the movie.
