Cat problem
A friend has a cat problem (neighbors). The cat gets on the car at night and leaves tracks all over the car. They do not like to have to wash the car almost every day.

Is there a way to keep the car off the car?

Shoot the cat.

Scat Mat
It's electric, but won't really hurt the cat
It's a training aid

Have your friends build a garage or use a car cover.

I agree with shooting the cat!

Grease the car, the cat will slip off and never come back.

Become friends with the cat. Pet it and let it allow you to catch it then take it to the pound. Or shoot it.

seriously though, talk to the neighbors. If that does not work, put in a complaint to the authorities. Also put out large rat traps with cat nip in them (tell the neighbor you are going to do this) It shouldn't kill the cat, but will scare him enough to stay away.

I have heard that you can take empty plastic bottles and fill them with water (part way) and place them around an area randomly and cat's will stay away. I can not label this as fact or fiction though.

Rat Traps???Are you kidding me? Adult men have lost fingers improperly setting rat traps... Not only is that totally inhumane but can easily land you in jail. Just spray the cat with a water hose. After a few times getting wet, it won't come back.. trust me... easy fix for an easy problem. Rich Valentine

Once you have talked to the owners (which I said to do) it is no longer illegal. What is illegal is that they have a pet and they are not ensuring that their pet stays within their property lines.

This is the dilemma of owning a cat - what it will do to others and their propertly.

All i can suggest is to lock him inside at night, but in the day its out of your control.

No it is still the owners fault no matter what time it is. Thats like saying that at night people cannot be controlled so murders that happen at night are just a way of life. Cats should be kept inside all the time... Why do you think we have so many unwanted cats. They wander and get pregnant all the time and have unwatted litters of kittens.
