Building is not for the faint of heart.

I read on the internet once that "building is not for the faint of heart."

I agree! It's a WHOLE lot tougher than I ever thought! My hats are off to all you contractors and experienced DIYers!

When I was taking flying lessons like 30 years ago...I used to think guys who actuall flew were "god like"...since I thought I would never catch on....many years and many thousands of hours of flight time later. it is just a little more complex then driving to the quick stop.

Building a home from the ground up is about the same, IMO, ....many simple tasks in sequence, the ommission of one that may or may not wreck the project.....I thought the first house I built would drive me nuts, and I didn't sleep well at night til it was sold...now, many houses later, it is just another set of tasks that make a project.

If you have a good PLAN and follow it, the job is a whole lot easier. Most people are afraid of plumbing. Fear of the unknown. Once you read a little and apply your new knowledge, it gets easier each time. Having a nice site like this helps also.

My basic problem was, indeed, the fact that my plan had some problems. Another big problem I faced was the fact that my framing contractor made some measurement errors. If I ever build a house again, I will be super critical of these two areas. I will double check every snapped line before a wall goes up.
