Black African Emperor Scorpion

now i know i dont sound that enthused about taking care of a scorpion in my post but i really am developing a passion for 1 of those critters.

they are actually very un-harmful critters if you dont mess with them and make them upset

the guy that picked it up for me @ petco just stuck his hand into the chamber of about 4 full grown scorpions and they didnt attack or try to defend themselves

when he got it in his hand, he pressed down on it a little with his thumb to show me how they dont really attack unless they're frightened

but im still thinking about it so any insight will be greatly appreciated.

If it gets out, as critters often do, you gotta think about kids and pets

I'm with Mickey. I'm always creeped out when people keep big insects and reptiles. I know they are rewarding pets for people who like them. But as a woman, I would not find it a charming house companion. Maybe the garage....

I think it’s kind of cute but I‘m kind of weird. The thing to think about is they are nocturnal and how long will it live. Some live a very long time.
You will never have to Vac the couch for hair, that is a good thing

I will have to concede that, but i really would not want that thing anywhere near my couch either. This one may be different but growing up in Florida, scorpions were potentially deadly( along with the pretty coral snake) and not considered pet worthy
