He wasn't hurting anyone (although Mrs. Deer might beg to differ).

Big@$$ Alligator!

This alligator was found between Centre and Leesburg , Alabama near a house! Game wardens were forced to shoot the alligator - guess he wouldn't cooperate...

Anita and Charlie Rogers could hear the bellowing in the night.
Their neighbors had been telling them that they had seen a mammoth alligator in the waterway that runs behind their house,
but they dismissed the stories as exaggerations.

'I didn't believe it,' Charles Rogers said, but they realized the stories were, if anything, understated.

Alabama Parks and Wildlife game wardens had to shoot the beast.
Joe Goff, 6'5' tall, a game warden, is shown walking past the 28-foot, 1-inch alligator 8.5 metres he shot and killed in their back yard.

Gawd, look at that thing. Probably about a ton of pure carnivore.

Gives you some idea of what the Jurassic period was like... eat or be eaten.

From: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/g/gator.htm

The pictures are authentic, but the explanatory information is incorrect.
We're not sure what lake the email is referring to.
Perhaps Georges Lake, which is about 60 miles from Ocala, not in Ocala.
Also, these pictures were not taken by the KTBS helicopter.
KTBS is in Shreveport, Louisiana, which is more than 800 miles away.
KTBS tells us that this picture did not come from their helicopter, which crashed in 1992 and has not been replaced.

The facts are that these pictures were taken in 2004 by Terri Jenkins, an officer of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service over the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge about 40 miles South of Savannah, Georgia.
According to a news release, she was aboard a helicopter that was igniting prescribed fires in the refuge when the 12 to 13-foot alligator was spotted swimming with the full-grown deer in its mouth.

Would make some fine boots

Yeah, I guess you don't want to go swimming in the Gulf just anywhere. A few alligators like that could wreck the whole season of any tourist resort if they eat or dismember a tourist or two.

(First time I ever saw a full grown moose in the wild I was truly surprised at how big they actually were. I had pictured them to be only a little larger than a full sized horse. They are much larger than a horse. Their shoulders stand a good 8 feet off the ground. It's hard to judge their height because their antlers add so much to their height. But, even their antlers are impressive because they are so large. We don't have any animals here in Canada that eat people other than the polar bear. Other bears will maul you if they think you're encroaching on their feeding territory, but the only bears that will actually hunt down a human and kill and eat him/her as a meal are polar bears. They're pretty big too.)
