Beagle Impregnated by Chocolate lab

Both my dogs.

Gibson is a 7 year old full grown male Chocolate lab. Macy is the newcomer whom I brought home some months ago, miniature beagle. Both purebred, no papers. Don't care about that.

Gibby tagged Macy around a month ago. Now I fear she may pass giving birth. Macy does have an appointment this coming Tuesday to see if she can be aborted as it pertains to an early pregnancy spay, but if too late she may have to have the litter, that litter possibly killing her as she's tiny and young and he's massive.

I can't handle that. I've put my new four wheeler up for sale and my truck to pay for the C-section she may require to save her life.

Anyone else have positive experience with this type of situation?

Positive replies only, please. Positive only.

My Polaris 500 Sportsman EFI I bought maybe three months ago from original one owner For 5k at 18 original hours is up for sale as well. She now has close to 50 hours which is the first recommended oil change, but she is the brute force of the Polaris lineup. I'll let her go for $2500 today and today only.

Anything to save my girl. Please help.

So sorry for what you're going through. Can't your vet just let you pay in installments later and go ahead with the procedure now?

Doc,

So sorry to hear about this. I wish I were closer as I could use an ATV for the office if it could tow small trailers.

The truck should sell quick. Get some pictures up on those ads.

Will your vet do payments? Most will if you have a history with them.

thanks, bud.

four wheeler on craigslist has had a huge response. I'll be selling it tomorrow, 3k. The guy buying it is a Polaris mechanic, said himself it was priced ultra low. Good deal for him, I say.

My girl has been giving me hell, though...

I bet he tore his pocket off getting his billfold out to pay for that ultra low priced 4 wheeler.

Don't take this as unsympathetic but a few weeks ago you told us you make 5K a week and now you can't you afford a trip to the vet.

What's up with that???

5k a week I did make, at one company which I resigned from months ago.

at the time of bringing home 40k in two months I put 9k into my truck, bought my girl diamond earings and two four wheelers. the rest, who knows? I party.

I told you I made 5k a week at one company, only one which has paid 10% gross ticket for equipment sales.

I left that company. Recall if you will, the overall conversation of that thread was how do I continue to make that money...

Doc before you sell the wife and kids...How much did they quote for the c section? My beagle cross had emergency surgery this week to remove 7 stones in her bladder so it was internal surgery with a 2 night stay and it only cost me 700. That was with internal stitching and happy juice etc.

$160 for spay which will abort puppies but not if she's too far along. If she is past a certain number of days, into a latter pregnancy, they will not attempt the spay but will need to fully abort her.

They said if she is too far along then she will simply have to give birth. That birth is what I'm worried about, young beagle giving birth to a cho labs babies. It could kill her.

I need the few grand just in case.

Now, I'm no vet, but I'm sure confused. So you are telling me that if a large dog mates with a small dog, it can kill the small dog to give birth? I thought nature had a way to work things out. I've heard of big and small dogs, and the small dog simply gives birth to a small litter, just like it normally would. It doesn't all the sudden have to cope with trying to give birth to 9 massive puppies.

Lab puppies are pretty little when they're born. After a few weeks, it's a different story. I think I'd talk to a couple different vets to get another opinion.
