Baseball Tragedy

I thought this would be a good place to post this also because there seems to be alot more traffic here and I want as many people to see this. Hopefully this can help prevent any more tragic accidents like this.

Please make sure that if you have a child that is a catcher that they where proper gear. It was a freak accident, but maybe the kids can where something more to protect their chest.

This is what happened to this this poor kid. He was wearing proper gear.

Here's a link to the death of a 16 year old boy.

That certainly can happen from a blow to the chest even with protective gear. It is rare and tragic when it does occur. It's scary to think about how many times we did punched each other in the chest as kids without even realizing the possible consequences.

Baseball Tragedy

When I was in 2nd grade, the boy who sat in front of me in class had been playing baseball over the weekend with some neighborhood kids that were older than him.

He was pitching and was hit in the chest by a baseball and died. It's sad when freak things like that happen.

Baseball Tragedy

It seems as though with every tragedy and with every year that passes, some new safety device and/or government policy is called for. I don't know where it all ends. One day it may be illegal to walk down the street without a safety helmet and a bubble suit.

Having said that, what happened to this young man was an awful tragedy. It would be tough to be one of the parents.

That is a sad story and sad freak stories happen quite often. The last thing I want to see is more government telling me what my child must wear for safety. Look at the NFL with all these helmet to helmet blows and the tragedies that happen every year. I love football and would hate to see it go. My solution lets go back to leather helmets ( or none at all) and lets see how many guys lead with the head.
