Anybody BBQ?

We have a beer money thread and a maple syrup thread. It's time for an official BBQ thread. That'll melt the snow up north, or at least keep you warm while you're out in it!

Anybody else BBQ?

Oh,boy----now I'm going to have to fire up the BBQ--those country ribs look great---

Marinade for beef or chicken---

1 cup Kikoman Soy sauce
1 cup white wine
1 cup pineapple juice

4 or 5 cloves crushed garlic
grated fresh ginger (about and inch or more) or powdered ginger
black pepper

Steaks--2 to 3 hours---3 to 4 pound rolled roast---6 to 8 hours----chicken---2 to 3 hours.

This is a natural tenderizer--so don't leave the meat in to long or it will become grainy---

This tasted mighty good----6 packs of snack sized pineapple juice are handy for this one---

We got a rack of baby back ribs ready to go on the smoker now. You just motivated me to do some smoking. Man that does look gooood.

You guys are tearing me up!

I went to a restaurant last week where the servers came around with huge pieces of meat on skewers- 15 varieties.
They'd slice of a piece for you- then come back in a few minutes with something else-beef, pork, chicken, sausage, even pinapple
Ever since then, I've been itching to start up the BBQ

MMmmmm. Those pictures have my mouth watering.

I'm dusting the snow off the grill today - this won't wait 'til spring!

This is a great thread already r0ckstarr.

Thanks for the recipe Mike!!

I grill a lot in the summer, but I don't BBQ ;)

The local market has had pork butt on special---time to get some gas for the smoker----

12penny 03-16-2013 01:11 PM

Funny how that's the cheapest cut,
but when done properly tastes the best.

I cook on the pit at least 3 - 4 times a week.

Not ribs. They are called Pork South Texas Ribeye's. Thick cut pork chops. They are the best! If cooked right, they don't dry out like regular pork chops. They are nice and juicy.

Lightly coat them in Olive Oil and a pinch of salt. Throw them on the grill for 6mins, then flip for another 6mins. After that put a piece of foil under them, pour your favorite BBQ sauce on top, flip again, and go for 4mins. After that 4mins, flip once more, add more BBQ sauce, and after 4mins they are done. Use a watch and time it.

So, 6mins per side.
Then put foil under them and go 4mins each side again.
BBQ sauce goes last.

The sauce is definitely the boss! Love Sweet Baby Rays.
