Any Gamers?
I am a pretty hardcore PC gamer.
Are there any other gamers here at DIYChat?
I run a CSS and HL2DM server in the US. Perhaps we can duke it out sometimes in a friendly match.

Satch...Honestly.....I barely have time to sleep in a day....(bet when I do sleep... I sleep a good restfull sleep)
FWIW - At this point in life...I don't have much free time...
But thanks for this little post of yours to remind us that IT IS important to take a 'lil' time to relax and enjoy some fun...and do what you enjoy doing....
Thank you...

To relax, I enjoy just coming to the computer and looking up this chatroom, or some other information that may interest me, listen to some tunes, etc. and even learning something along the way.
Games on the computer--not my cup of tea.

Yeah, each person relaxes in his/her own way.
After a long day at work seeing patients, I relax by shooting things and getting shot at.
I know it's ironic, but it works for me. :P

I spent 10 years playing online WWII flight simulators; flying in, designing, and running historical events with up to 400 pilots from all over the world that lasted from 3 hours to 3 months. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun. I have found nothing new to duplicate the experience, nor do I have the time, so I just "play" online boards now.

That does sound like an incredible experience.
Do you fly in real life?

No, they won't let me have guns or bombs a general aviation plane, and my primary criteria is to blow ************ up when flying.

It is amazing how far the genre has come. Here is a screenshot circa 1994:
Of a scenario of the New Guinea campaign in the pacific, and here is a movie circa 2005:

Regardless, we had just as much fun with that old 2D stuff as with the modern eyecandy; it is all about how it is played, not what you are playing.

Any Gamers?
...but with family I don't normally have the time...
Although I would like to take a week off of everything and get into games like Doom, Serious Sam, Starcraft and Age of Empires.
My friends and I used to have LAN parties and found it to be extremely fun and enjoyable.
Maybe I should restart playing...brings back old memories....

Why maybe? There's nothing more fun than trying to get your 6-y/o to leave the room while you're playing Halo. That's ok though, she's got a vsmile, and I bought her an NES a while back after finally putting away the Atari 2600. She loves Fuzion Frenzy though.
As long as you spend time with your family (and make sure at least some of it is outside), then you having some 'alone' time gaming should be warranted.
Gaming is an excellent form of therapy for me. And as far as not having any 'free time', it's all a matter of priorities (family first, then me, and then my job).
Actually, now that the weather is nice, my gaming time does decrease quite a bit...

Any Gamers?
Whether the weather is nice or not, I am stuck playing games.
However, I do make time for the gym, my wife, and of course, my job.
Pretty soon, our son will take the majority of our time. I better get my gaming fix in now.
