AC install price????

I am having a new LP furnace installed in my newly renovated house.
The house is a 1200 sq ft ranch. The price for the central air after he installs the furnace is $3760.00. Does this seem normal?
He also wanted $460 to clean ducts
High efficiency air cleaner $402
General Humidifier $ 460

The furnace is a York model # TG9S080B12MP11 95% AFUE gas furnace

The condenser will be located on the opposite end of the house. About 40 ft. from furnace.

My Dad lives in Fl. and works on AC all the time. He thinks we can put one in for $1200

Well, if your dad flies up from Florida. And you buy all the equipment yourself. Your dad can do it for $1200.00

But, what happens when the A/C doesn't work. Who's gonna fix it?
No contractor in the area has to honor a part warranty on equipment they didn't install.

Best to just have the same installer do it that is doing the heat.

I have a 1350 sq foot cape which already has forced air heat and the (is it coil?) in the furnace.

The condenser will be approx 30 feet away from where the electric panel is.

I was quoted $4500.

i dont know where youre are llocated, but i do installs in PA in the philadelhia suburbs, and this price would be more than fair in this area for a 95% furnace and a/c. as the efficiencies are going up, so are the equipment prices. by the way, what is the s.e.e.r. rating of the a/c unit? i would imagine it is also a york?

$460 for duct cleaning is an average price, as long as the job is done correctly, which would entail using a camera to record what the duct looked like before and after. if he is unwilling to do this i would look somewhere else for duct cleaning.

$460 for a humidifier isnt bad. i charge $600 for mine, but i am using the aprilaire brand.

unless you have extremely dirty conditions in your home, or have specific airborne allergies, i would advise the high efficiency air cleaner as unneeded. as long as you change your filers on a regular basis and keep your home relatively clean, the regular $1 throwaways will work just fine. they are what i use in my own home and have no intention of switching anytime soon.

all of this should, of course, include a 1 year unconditional warranty from the installer, separate from any factory or manufacturer's warranty.

The avg. price quoted in the comments is $7k.

The median household income for Lansing is $39K
and the avg. US median is $50k, so I'd expect to pay less than avg. in Lansing.
