What's Happening Here?

Hello to all.

I found out about this forum yesterday, and thought I would stop by to check it out.

It appears there is lots of activity here, so I will start to read some of the posts to see if my twenty-plus years of hands-on building and remodeling experience will be an asset to the community.

My guess is there are quite a few people here who have hit the wrong nail a time or two!

Its always good to have more knowledgable helpers especially ones with lots of experience to help answer questions. You will find that there are several posts per day on the site and many chances to help out.

Hi Tim! I'm a newbie too....maybe you are the one that can be of help to me.....I want to strip old paint off of a brick fireplace.....Is that possible? I may just have to repaint it-but I'd sure like to get the natural effect back. Any suggestions?

Cindy

Also, welcome aboard! This has been an adventure for me, already!

Cindy,

You can use paint strippers quite effectively for this job. I have two or three columns at my website that describe the different types of strippers. Some are mild and some can strip 20 to 30 layers of paint at once.
