Tiling

I want to tile the surround on the fireplace with glass tiles. Currently the surround and hearth is slate. Can I cover the slate surround with glass tiles and also, should I pull up the slate hearth before putting down porcelain tiles? thanks

Tiling

yes you can use glass tiles next to a fireplace. Yes you should take off the old slate tiles first.
