slinke1 - Jill of all trades

Hi, I grew up with a Dad who fixed everything and a Mom who read a lot. So between what I learned from him and finding a good how-to book, I have tackled a lot. Dad and I put up a small wall with door to close off the family room (the wall was at an angle, not 90 degrees to the others), and we did fine. I fixed the 1895 toilet in my first house after the plumber told me we'd have to replace it. I may be a woman, but you can't tell me they don't make pipes for those any more! And back when I had a car that you could work on yourself, I fixed the clutch in my truck (with lots of man-strength help, I must say).

So, I can do a little of everything, and I find the puzzle of something that doesn't work quite right to be a challenge, not a reason for yelling.

Not that I don't ever yell....

The guys (and gals) here are really helpful. Cheeky, but helpful.
If I could only remember to THINK about what I was doing before I did it.

cheeky just makes this site fun! Welcome aboard!

All I have done on a vehicle is set the gap on some spark plugs way back in '86 (cause I couldn't get the old ones out, my brother had to muscle em for me) and changed my oil. You will find a lot of really fun and helpful people on this site.
