Hello DIY chat room friends,
I have recently joined the DIY chat room to learn how to do most of my projects at home.
I am a blue collar retired civil service employee (retired on 2007) with 38 yrs and 8 mos. all of my civil service was done in the Avionics Metal Manufacturing Division and enjoyed every bit of it. Manufacturing parts for all military helicopters. started as a helper and worked my up to supervision all in the same shop and division. I have some very basic knowledge as to how to do carpentry, electricity (very limited), plumbing and sometimes don't feel too comfortable doing. I have laid tile at my house and my son's house we did 1500sq. ft. of vinyl flooring and remodeled one of the restrooms completely with tile. tile and vinyl I do fairly well and can call on my Brother-in-law if I have problems, he laid tile for 40 yrs.
I do have to say that I feel right at home and very comfortable with metals not sheet metal but machinist type of work. sheet metal is an entirely different ball game.
so I'm counting on the DIY chat room to help me when I call.
I will do the same if I know the answers.
this is all for now, stay safe and wear all your safety equipment properly. measure twice and cut once!
